Select any two of the illustrations below, each an allusion to one or more of our class discussions or readings. In an essay or other form of writing, briefly acknowledge/summarize the key points of the illustration. Then, for the main part of the question, draw a thoughtful and class-legitimate connection between the concepts or questions posed by each. You might think of the connection in any of these ways:
- Does one idea cause the other?
- Are the ideas parallel? in opposition?
- Do they raise similar questions or concerns?
- Do they each inform our culture today in similar ways?
- Does one contradict or answer the other?
Finally, offer your own reflection/personal opinion on the connection you've found.
Craft this any way that works for you, but it must communicate your depth/breadth of thought clearly to me! You may use any of the books/other readings we've read in class for quotations and such.
