OPTION 1: Revise Final Draft of Research Paper

  • Review the final draft comments and rubric score for your research paper.
  • Identify one or two areas of critical need (where you lost the most points).
  • Target those areas for revision. This means following these steps:
    1. Meet with someone new (group of students, parent, teacher, etc.) to review what needs to be done.
    2. Write up a short sheet of specific goals to turn in be Friday, June 3.
  • Rewrite the essay, correcting format and the revision areas, working for absolute flawlessness.  Your goal is a perfect score in the area targeted.
  • Review your changes with your original consultants.
  • Turn in the flawless copy!

Score will be based upon the areas you targeted for revision, pro-rated to 100 pts.

 OPTION 2: Write a Mini-Paper

    • Meet with someone new (group of students, parent, teacher, etc.) to discuss your paper's plan (thesis, argument, and evidence)
    • Write up a short sheet of goals and plan for the paper by Friday, June 3.
  • Draft the essay.  Requirements:
    • Length:  3-4 MLA-formated pages
    • Research:  At least three legitimate sources with Works Cited list
    • Purpose: To effectively argue a position readers should consider
  • Review your draft with your original consultants.
  • Turn in the flawless copy!

Score will be based on the original research paper rubric.
