What is a wiki library?

Wikiwiki means quick in Hawaiian. A wiki library is a document library in which users can easily edit any page. The library grows organically by linking existing pages together or by creating links to new pages. If a user finds a link to an uncreated page, he or she can follow the link and create the page.

Our Wiki will be an online collective guide of our class notes, created by all of you.  I've outlined key pages and ideas; you fill in with notes, strategies, examples, and experiences which worked or didn't

Criteria for good entries (each is worth 20% of score):
  • Add a new idea, one that makes sense when read by someone not in the class.
  • Be clear, writing in full sentences, etc.
  • Create links to other parts of the wiki, other websites, or sources for further reading.  See How To Use This Wiki Library.
  • Format properly and neatly (Internet Explorer is easiest to work with), so that style and appearance of the page is consistent.
  • Is "signed" with your initials at the end of the entry.  (I can figure out who changed what, but it's easiest if you just tag yourself!

Editor Role:

Good Wiki editors will review pages and keep them clean and consistent, accurate and valid.  If you have been assigned to an editor role, here are the criteria for grades.

Criteria for good entries (each is worth 25% of score):
  • The page is kept consistent, whether in formatting, font, colors, image use, etc. so that it may be easily read and understood.
  • The page is maintained for grammatical correctness, with no spelling, punctuation, or other grammatical errors in its formal English.
  • The organization and layout is accurate, so that links work properly, images are appropriate and labeled, and points are ordered logically.  See How To Use This Wiki Library for link mechanics.
  • The information is accurate/correct or it is removed from the site.
